Bio:
Unlike a few of the teachers at the academy, Lief can empathise on a more personal level with his students. How? He grew up in an Academy and was a pretty impressive Meister who could wield most weapons despite the difficulties most face when attempting to pair up their souls. Despite this, Lief is strictly a one weapon sort of man and when his weapon fell in battle after seventeen years together, he resorted to teaching instead. He has only been teaching for a few months and his new and often unusual methods is cause for concern amongst some more conservative and traditionalists. Not that he cares, he's just making a living and hoping to teach the future saviours of humanity not to make the same mistakes he did.

Before the Academy:
December's mother had been a Meister, and whilst neither the best or the worst she was pretty spectacular and probably one of the top twenty during her years in the academy and top one hundred whilst on the field. Which yes, was quite the achievement. Which is why it was no wonder that her only daughter got into the trade and was trained personally up from such a young age. Although some parents may wish to protect their children and keep them out of harm's way, December's mother could think of nothing more noble than becoming a Meister and wanted to train a blood prodigy to take her name and place in this world. December would never have a mother to take her to the front gates of the Death Academy in Edinburgh however after her mother died a pitiful mortal death, not at the hands of a demon or the last witch she was attempting to slay, but instead the IRA. Her father was killed in the same petrol bomb explosion. She's not entirely orphaned however and has an older brother who tries to look out for her. Unfortunately he had discarded his roots and lives a mortal life, one December cannot allow to become entangled with her own. And yes, she planned to continue with her mother's name.
 
December finds it hard to trust, especially the unconditional trust she should place in her weapon. She also believes in truth and justice in theory but in practise she cannot afford to allow anything to stand in her way of completing her mother's life of creating a Death weapon as she was so close to doing. She enjoys playing "grown ups" and acting far older than her age, which can cause conflict when someone treats her like a fifteen year old or, in her view, looks down on her.
 
During the Academy: (I.e. Partner etc)
December transferred to the academy with her weapon, wanting to be closer to the hustle and bustle of England's capital city, which of course means more demons to slay on a daily basis without the need for travel. Also, she can understand them a lot easier down here! She is still settling in and currently is living in dorms until she can find a suitable living arrangement with most likely her weapon and friend. She struggles in theory lessons, and is the sort of girl who can only think in the moment and immediate consequences rather than long term.

Likes: The adrenaline and euphoria that comes from gathering another soul, cookie dough and Mario Kart, indie rock concerts
Dislikes: Practical jokers, being underestimated, people who take things for granted

Before the Academy:
Just like any poor boy weapon story, Jason grew up on the streets of Paris. Don't get him wrong, he had a family, although they weren't related by blood but instead unfortunate stories. His? He was born with "odd blood" his parents just couldn't handle on top of the mouth to feed. Poverty is no joke and very much alive in western countries. He did not however, as he got old enough to get out of it steal his way to a good nights dinner but instead worked. As a newspaper boy to waiter to bartender, Jason has spent his whole life working until he was recruited by the Academy to finish off his adolescent years in education and training to help humanity. It wasn't the most exciting prospect to Jason, who felt he was too old to teach the old dog new tricks but he has naturally picked up the skills quickly and professionally with his can do attitude and focussed, self motivated attitude towards what he does.
 
At the Academy: (Inc. partner etc)
Jason has not yet found his partner. His soul just hasn't found one like his own that can fight in sync. Despite this he is one of the top students in his class for theory work and enjoys a good book that is either fiction or non fiction - the later helping him tremendously with his studies.
